What is the difference between co-payment and co-insurance? Co-payment: A fixed amount you pay when you receive a covered health care service. The amount varies by the type of service.
Co-insurance: Your share of the costs of a covered health care service, calculated as a percentage of the allowed amount for the service. You pay co-insurance plus any deductibles you owe. For example, if the health insurance allowed amount for an office visit is $100 and you've met your deductible, your co-insurance payment of 20% would be $20. The insurance pays the rest of the allowed amount.

Students enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) receive routine eye exam benefits: Enrollees are subject to a $25 copay per visit and receive up to $300 maximum per policy year for exams, hardware, contact lenses, and/or glasses.
Submitting a claim through the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is simple: Claims can be mailed to the submission address listed on the back of your ID card, which can be accessed online. In addition, students can access the Claim Information Form from the Insurance Forms page which provides an email address where scanned claims can be submitted. The Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) offers access to Optum Rx: Optum Rx can be useful for viewing your benefits or finding out the price of a prescription before you have it filled. To access, visit ‘View Prescription Plan’ in your UHCSR MyAccount and click ‘Pharmacy Locator’. It’ll take you right to Optum Rx!.
Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) offers powerful health resources to
support your wellness goals: Those enrolled in student health insurance have
access to Live and
Work Well, a resource where students can take health risk assessments,
participate in personalized self-help programs & use health estimators to
calculate target heart rate and BMI. Simply create an account and build your
way to wellness.
students have access to BetterHelp behavioral telehealth counseling: BetterHelp
offers groupinars 5-10 times a week covering topics including depression,
stress, career and relationships. Students
covered by UnitedHealthCare can enjoy this benefit free of charge and non-covered
students may join for a monthly fee. Certified BetterHelp counselors can also
provide one-on-one services through text, live chat, phone or video
enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan have 24/7 access to physicians
via phone & video: The HealthiestYou national telehealth service is available to
students enrolled in SHIP at no charge and is especially helpful for minor
illnesses including things like allergies, sore throat & pink eye. Based on
the condition being treated, the physician can also prescribe medications,
saving you a trip to the doctor’s office! Check out the service online. There’s even a HealthiestYou Mobile
All students have access to BetterHelp virtual counseling: BetterHelp is
a behavioral telehealth service providing access to professional licensed
counselors through ongoing text communication, live chat, phone or video. You
can be matched with a certified counselor in under 24 hours! Students
enrolled in the
Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) receive this benefit at no charge. Students
who aren’t enrolled
are welcome to participate for a monthly fee.

Massage therapy is covered
under student health insurance.
Students enrolled in UnitedHealthCare Student Health Insurance receive
acupuncture and massage therapy benefits up to $500 per policy year, reimbursed at 80 percent. Search the
provider network for a local massage therapist from the UnitedHealthCare insurance page or the UHCSR Mobile App.
