Spring Welcome 2013

Spring Welcome 2013 Information 

Spring Welcome will be held on January 15, 2013. By attending this event, you will learn what you need to know about the University of Colorado Denver, Downtown Campus.

Spring Welcome is designed for all students new to the university, including:

  • Freshmen
  • Transfer, Graduate, International, and Non-Degree students
  • Post-Secondary

The session will be an opportunity to meet fellow students, faculty and staff to learn about:

  • Campus Resources
  • Campus Policies and Academic Deadlines
  • Transportation and Parking

Agenda

  • 2:30-3:00 p.m.  Check-In at North Classroom 1130
  • 3:00-4:00 p.m.  Orientation Session
  • 4:00-5:00 p.m.  Resource Fair

Registration

Register Online to reserve your spot by January 9, 2013.

Check-In

Check-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. at North Classroom 1130.

Parking

We will validate parking ONLY for the Tivoli Auraria Parking garage.  Please bring your parking stub to the check-in desk for validation.

Transfer Students

Advising & Registration

Transfer students are required to meet with an advisor before registering for classes and should make an advising appointment as soon as possible after being admitted. Your advisor will review your transfer credits, discuss CU Denver degree requirements and help you choose classes for your first semester. Advisors will not be available at the Spring Welcome. 

Assessment Testing

All students who wish to take Math 1401-Calculus must take a Math prerequisite exam through the Math Department's MERC Lab, located in North Classroom 4015. Call (303) 556-8532 for testing information and lab schedule.

Graduate Students

Welcome Graduate Students. All advising for the graduate programs is done by the department. You should contact your department for information about classes and registration. In addition to the Spring Welcome, your department may hold a meeting or information session.

International Students

Welcome to the University of Colorado Denver – Downtown Campus! We are looking forward to meeting you soon.

Steps for international students upon arrival:

Check-In (required)

Undergraduate students must attend two orientation sessions- one general orientation that is for all new incoming students on January 15 from 2-5pm and the mandatory international student orientation on January 18 from 8am-5pm.  Graduate students must attend the mandatory international student orientation on January 18 and their department's orientation (please check with your department to learn when and where it is).

Check-in (required) and Orientation (required)

All students must attend a mandatory International Student Orientation on January 18 from 8am-5pm.  Orientation will cover how international students can maintain their  F-1 or J-1 status, how to navigate your first few weeks at CU Denver and in Colorado, insurance, health and safety, cross-cultural adjustment, among other topics.  Location for the orientation will be provided to students in emails.
