Congratulations on your admission to the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver)! Participating in orientation is a great way to learn the things you need to know for your first-semester at CU Denver, downtown campus. You will interact with fellow students, staff, and faculty to learn about the following:

  • Campus resources.
  • Academic deadlines and policies.
  • Parking and transportation.
  • And much more!

General Program Information

Student Checklist: All new students should review and complete the necessary items outlined in the Student Checklist.

Parking: Park in the Tivoli Parking Garage (Parking Map and ADA accessible parking map​by entering 9th Street and Auraria Parkway. Parking ONLY for the Tivoli Parking Garage will be validated if you bring your ticket to the Fall Welcome check-out desk.

Location: North Classroom (Parking Map). 

Disability Resources and Services: If you are a new student who may need special accommodations due to a disability, please contact Disability Resources and Services.

Fall Welcome 2014

Fall Welcome is designed for all new CU Denver students. Please note that academic advising will NOT be available at this program. Students with academic advising questions will be referred to the appropriate office. 

Date and time: August 15, 2014 (Time: TBD)

Location: North Classroom (Parking Map​). 

Parking:  Tivoli Parking Garage (9th Street & Auraria Parkway). Only Tivoli Parking Garage tickets will be validated.

International Student Orientation

Welcome to the University of Colorado Denver, downtown campus! We are looking forward to meeting you soon.
 
Attend International Student Orientation
All international students with an F-1 or J-1 visa are REQUIRED to attend the orientation. At International Student Orientation, the following topics will be covered:
  • How to maintain your F-1 or J-1 status
  • How to navigate your first few weeks at CU Denver and Colorado
  • Insurance, health and safety
  • Cross-cultural adjustment
  • Trips for succeeding in the U.S. academic system

To register for International Student Orientation, contact the International Student and Scholar Services at (303) 315-2230 and ask to speak to an International Services Coordinator. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

Transfer Days

Please call our office for more information on our Transfer Days that will begin this summer. 

Fall Welcome

We encourage you to attend our Fall Welcome which features sessions designed specifically for transfer students. Please note that academic advising will NOT be available at this program. Students with academic advising questions will be referred to the appropriate office. 

Transfer Students: All transfer students are welcome to attend. However, transfer students are not required to participate in this program.

Veteran Student Requirements: All newly admitted veteran students are required to attend Fall Welcome. For more information, contact Veteran Student Services at 303-556-2630.

Sign up for Fall Welcome: Newly admitted transfer students can sign up to attend a Fall Welcome by visiting their UCDAccess student portal beginning March 18, 2014. 

Academic Advising and Registration: Transfer students should make an academic advising appointment once they are admitted. All transfer students are required to meet with an academic advisor before registering for courses
Your academic advisor will review your transfer credits, discuss CU Denver degree requirements and help you register for your first-semester courses.  

Colleg of Liberal Arts and Sciences transfer students: All transfer students admitted in to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) must sign up for a required advising appointment.  
  • In-state transfer students admitted into CLAS can sign up for a TAGS advising session by clicking here.​
  • Out-of-state transfer student admitted into CLAS must complete an online advising session by clicking here​.

Graduate Students

Welcome Graduate Students! All academic advising for the graduate programs are done by the department. Please contact your department for information about academic advising and course registration. If your department is holding a specific orientation session, that information will come directly from the program.
