Welcome Parents and Families!
At the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver), we value the relationships we have with our students' parents and family members. Before the new semester begins, we want to make sure that you are prepared to support your student during their academic journey at CU Denver. Therefore, we would like to invite you to attend Parent Orientation, which features sessions specifically designed for you.
Parent Orientation (only offered in fall orientation sessions) runs concurrently with New Student Orientation. Orientation dates will be announced through this website on March 15. Your student will be able to identify the number of guests (i.e. parent) when they register for an orientation date by visiting their UCDAccess student portal (www.ucdenver.edu/ucdaccess). Students will be able to register for an orientation date starting April 1.
Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate more than two guests per student.
The program format of New Student Orientation will have students and parents participating in separate sessions.Click here.pdf to view a tentative Parent Orientation agenda.
Parent Orientation will help you become familiar with the academic environment and the many support services available to you and your student. By the end of the day, we hope that you feel connected to CU Denver.
By attending Parent Orientation, you will learn about the following:
- What to expect from CU Denver
- Keys to academic success
- Campus safety and wellness
- Living on-campus or commuting to CU Denver
- Advising 101 for parents
- Employment and career resources for your student
Additionally, parents will also have the opportunity to finalize any business transactions at Parent Orientation (e.g. $200.00 registration deposit). The following offices will be in attendance to serve you:
- Financial Aid
- Health Center at Auraria
