Our peer-to-peer mentor program matches incoming veteran students with current veteran students that have already navigated all the pitfalls that face new students. Mentors can be expected to help new students navigate campus life, identify challenges they face, refer them to appropriate resources on or off campus, and provide ongoing support toward their academic and personal goals. For those occasions, Veteran & Military Student Services offers a tutoring service to keep our veteran students on track. Seeking help with an upper division course and the LRC has no tutors available? Not a problem. Boots to Suits: Professional Development Program
Veteran & Military Student Services is proud to partner with other school offices to give our veteran students workshops in a vast array of career-related subjects such as résumé writing and interviewing skills. The Professional Development Program is a competitive program that our veteran students must apply for. The benefits of the Professional Development Program includes an individually assigned professional mentor, networking opportunities, and a leg up on competitors by allowing our students an inside look into their career field before graduation.
