Peer-to-Peer Mentors

Our peer-to-peer mentor program matches incoming veteran students with current veteran students that have already navigated all the pitfalls that face new students. Mentors can be expected to help new students navigate campus life, identify challenges they face, refer them to appropriate resources on or off campus, and provide ongoing support toward their academic and personal goals. Find more information about our peer-to-peer mentor program.

Mental Health

The transition from the military back to civilian life can be incredibly challenging. Add to that the pressures of returning to academics and the challenge can be magnified. CU Denver is committed to ensuring veteran students meet these challenges successfully. Part of that process is to ensure that students are provided with the resources to face that stress and thrive. While some subjects may be second nature, others may push a student to their limits. For those occasions, Veteran & Military Student Services offers a tutoring service to keep our veteran students on track. Seeking help with an upper division course and the LRC has no tutors available? Not a problem. Tutoring for Vets offers free tutoring online and in person for any course and suject our veteran students need. Find out more information about tutoring.

Paying for school and worrying about personal finances is an issue that faces all university students. While education benefits earned from military service are fantastic, sometimes they are not enough. CU Denver offers a number of scholarships to assist our students financially. Find out more information about scholarships.
