Mission Statement

The purpose of the Society of TRiO Students Club is to enhance and support academic services and promote cultural and social development for TRiO participants and other UCD students.

STS Club Description

The Society of TRiO Students Club at the University of Colorado Denver is an organization comprised of students who are enthusiastic and interested in representing the University as a club. We look forward to improving cultural diversity within our club and the university as well as providing mentorship for other low-income and first-generation students and students with disabilities to achieve academic success and gain valuable leadership skills.

STS Club Executive Board Descriptions and Qualifications

The President will:

  • Update and maintain current and accurate information to the CU Denver  Student Government Association.
  • Serve as the link between the organization, the advisor, and the Office of Student Life.
  • Conduct meetings.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and inform members of the said meeting.
  • Appoint all committees and committee chairs.
  • Be a current CU Denver student with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Be in good standing with the University.
  • Have been an active member of the organization for at least two semesters and have at least sophomore or junior status.

The Vice-President will:

  • Serve in the absence of the President.
  • Assist the President in the duties of the Office of President.
  • Assist the President in fundraising activities.
  • Be a current CU Denver student with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Be in good standing with the University.
  • Have been an active member of the organization for at least two semesters and have at least sophomore or junior status.

The Treasurer will:

  • Update and maintain current and accurate account information with the CU Denver SGA Office.
  • Work in conjunction with the CU Denver SGA Finance Board in all financial matters concerning the organization.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all organizational receipts and expenditures. This will include making deposits and reconciling statements.
  • Be a current CU Denver student with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Be in good standing with the University.
  • Have been an active member of the organization for at least one semester.

The Secretary will:

  • Maintain an accurate record of discussions and minutes of all meetings.
  • Maintain and keep all records of the organization.
  • Maintain and handle all organizational correspondence.
  • Be a current CU Denver student with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Be in good standing with the University.
  • Have been an active member of the organization for at least one semester.
