Learning Styles:

Did you ever wonder why your friend never studies for math class but gets A's on the tests while you spend hours studying and always get B's? Is she just smarter than you?Probably not. Intelligence is not easily defined and consists of many factors. This workshop explores two of the most common theories about how people learn. Come and find out about Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences and explore the VAK distinctions between visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. Active Learning:
While it IS necessary to put in time to master the complex concepts in your classes, it ISN’T ONLY the time you spend but what you do with that time. Successful students must find a way to OWN THE INFORMATION. This means that a student must take what is offered in the textbook and the lectures and not just memorize it but to UNDERSTAND, EXPLAIN, APPLY, ANALYZE AND EVALUATE IT.
