Business School Requirements


General Requirements

  • All Business Academic Internships are Pass/Fail
  • Undergraduate Business Students can earn a total of 3 credits of internship credit toward their degree
  • Graduate Business Students can earn a total of 6 credits of internship credit toward their degree
  • Learning Agreements are required for all internships

Undergraduate Requirements

3-Credit Internship

  • Minimum GPA - 2.75 prior to beginning the internship
  • Completed 15 credits of Business Core classes at CU Denver
  • Completed 21 credits of the Business Core
  • Complete 150 hours at your internship site to receive credit
  • Faculty Sponsor - Professor Peter Miller is the faculty sponsor for all business interns (except Accounting and RMI)
  • May fulfil Business Majors' Experiential Learning requirement (3939, upper level)

1-Credit Internship

  • Complete a minimum of 30 credits (sophomore standing). Can be any combination of transfer credit and CU Denver credit
  • GPA - minimum 2.0 prior to beginning internship
  • Must complete 50 hours at your internship site to receive credit
  • Faculty Sponsor - Professor Peter Miller
  • Lower-level general Business Elective

Not-for-Credit Internship

  • Minimum GPA - 2.0 prior to beginning co-op
  • Must have completed at least 15 credit hours at CU Denver
  • Must be a current degree-seeking student in the Business School

Graduate Student Requirements

3-Credit Internship

  • Minimum GPA - 3.0
  • Completed 15 graduate credit hours at CU Denver
  • Enrolled at least part time
  • Must be a current degree seeking student in Business School

Not-for-Credit Internship

  • Minimum GPA - 3.0
  • Enrolled at least part time
  • Completed at least one semester as a degree seeking graduate business student
  • Must be a current degree-seeking student in Business School
