Why should we hire you?
This will be the easiest question you get in the interview IF you responded to the “Tell me about yourself” question as recommended above AND IF you were able to spend most of the interview discussing the employers list of most important characteristics they are looking for in the ideal candidate. If you have been successful in this effort, the response to this question is simply a recap of your interview.
Respond with something like, “I believe you should hire me because, based on what we’ve talked about today, I am a strong fit for this position. You said you are looking for someone who is A, B, C, and D. Is that correct? (They will say yes) Great, so let me recap why I am a good fit for each of these.” Then do so.
After you have recapped why you are a good fit for A, B, C, and D, then close with a statement like, “Does this help you see why I think I am a good fit for this position and why you should hire me?” They should respond in the affirmative at this point.
