Anchutz Medical Campus - The University of Colorado Hospital shares the Anschutz Medical Campus with the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, as well as its schools of Nursing, Pharmacy and Dentistry.
University of Colorado Hospital is an “academic hospital,” which distinguishes us from all other adult hospitals in the Rocky Mountain region. This is important because academic/university hospitals around the country are often at the forefront of advancement in new treatments and therapies. Unlike “community hospitals,” academic hospitals partner with medical schools and major research institutions. All of our physicians, for example, are faculty members at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, one of the leading research institutions in the world.
In addition to being great physicians, the members of the CU Denver School of Medicine teaching staff are also leading scientists that conduct sophisticated research projects. In an effort to best instruct the next generation of caregivers, they stay ahead of the latest medical research and innovative treatment methods.
