The Career Center is happy to help you connect with students through on- or off-campus interviews (a.k.a. Schedules). This can be done through a Preselect Schedule, which allows you to select the candidates you wish to interview once they have submitted their résumés through our online database. You can also elect to conduct interviews through an Open Schedule, which allows any qualified candidate to sign up for an interview by picking any available timeslot.
To be qualified to conduct on-/off-campus interviews, your organization must meet the requirements listed in the Who Qualifies section of our Employer Policies. Third-Party Recruiters are not eligible to participate. Job postings must be submitted at least one month before the interview date.
Cancellations within five days of a scheduled interview will be documented and consideration for future events will be evaluated.
Scheduling an On Campus Interview:
To schedule an On Campus Interview (AKA Schedule) contact the UCD Career Center at (303) 556-2250 or login to Just ASK! Job Link.
Scheduling an OCI from Just ASK! Job Link:
- Login to Just ASK! Job Link.
- Scroll over the ‘On Campus Interviews’ tab from the home page.
- Select the ‘New Schedules Request’.
- Click ‘Save’ once you have entered all the interview information.
On Campus Interview Definitions:
Open Schedule – Any student that meets the schedule requirements is allowed to sign up for an interview by picking any available timeslot.
Preselect Schedule – Students that meet the schedule requirements are allowed to submit a résumé to you during a specific period. The accepted students are then allowed to sign up for available timeslots.
Interview Profile – A profile contains all of the overall information about an interview schedule such as the job title, description, and any student requirements.
Interview Session – An interview session is the interview day schedule/room. It includes the date, timeslots, and candidates. An interview schedule may have multiple interview sessions.
Preselect Activity – This is where you will find the list of students that have requested an interview for a Preselect Schedule. It is also where you can select the students you wish to interview.
Information Session – An interview may have an information session associated with it. This is usually a separate but related event you may hold to acquaint students with your organization or answer questions prior to the interview date.
Viewing an Interview Profile:
- Click “My Interview Schedule” from the home page. It will list all the interview schedules currently setup for your company.
- Click the [Schedule ID] to view the schedule.
Viewing an Interview Session (Timeslots):
- Click “My Interview Schedule” from the home page.
- Click on the Schedule ID to view the schedule.
- In the [Sessions] column click the Interview Date of the session you wish to view.
- Click ‘Schedule’ in the cookie crumb trail to return to the schedule you were on or click another item from the main or sub-menu.
Viewing Preselect Activity:
- Click “My Interview Schedule” from the home page.
- Click on the Schedule ID to view the schedule. (This must be a preselect schedule in order to have preselect activity).
- In the [Preselect Activity] section click ‘Manage List’ to see the students that have submitted a request to be interviewed.
Submit Preselect Picks:
- Follow the steps in the View Preselect Activity section.
- For each student on the list, you are allowed to select “Accept” or “Reject”. Accepted students will be able to sign up for available timeslots. Rejected students will not be allowed to sign up for an interview.
- After making your selections, click “Submit”. Your picks will be saved and you will not be able to edit them further.
- Click “Schedule” in the cookie crumb trail to return to the Schedule Profile.
Viewing an Information Session (Related to your Interview Schedule):
- Click “My Interview Schedule” from the Home Page.
- Click on the Schedule ID to view the schedule.
- In the [Sessions] column, click the Interview Date of the session you wish to view.
- Click ‘Schedule’ in the cookie crumb trail to return to the Schedule Profile.
Generating a Packet of Student Resumes:
There are two different student résumé packets that can be generated from interview schedules:
- Session Packet – This packet can be run by viewing a specific interview session. It will contain the names of students that have signed up for the session and their interview timeslots.
- Preselect Packet – This packet can be run by viewing Preselect Activity (see the “View Preselect Activity” section above). It will contain the names of all of the students that have submitted a request to be interviewed.
The steps below can be used to run for both packets:
- Click “My Interview Schedule” from the Home Page.
- Click on the Schedule ID to view the schedule.
- Go to the appropriate section for the type of packet you wish to run. If checkboxes are available next to the students in the corresponding results list, select students by either clicking the checkbox next to each student referral you wish to include or click the ‘Select All’ button to include all students in your results. If these options are not available for the packet you are running, all students listed will be included in the packet.
- Click “Create Packet.”
NOTE: Select the “Email Packet to Self” box if you want Just ASK! Job Link to create the packet and email you a PDF when the packet is complete. This allows you to continue with other tasks in the system while the packet is being created.
