- A two-week independent study of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, screening and prevention of colorectal cancer. Students will complete an online didactic course, 30-40 lower GI endoscopy cases on a state-of-the-art endoscopy simulator and possibly a clinical observation experience.

- This elective is offered only at selected times. Students must communicate with Dr. Deutchman about availability. It will not be offered June, July, August, or December.
- The focus of this two-week elective is on recognition, assessment, triage and treatment of acute dental problems, such as pain, infection and trauma. Students interested in rural or underserved primary care practice should take this elective.

- Students will learn to perform oral examinations on young children, recognize dental caries and other dental problems, apply fluoride varnish and collaborate with oral health professionals. Students interested in rural or underserved primary care practice should take this elective.
