Anissa Buhring

Doctorate of Nursing
University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Anissa is continuing her PhD in nursing program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus through a mostly on-line program. Attending on-line has allowed her to remain in the rural area to continue to give back to her local communities and raise her children in a small town. She just completed her intensives for the semester at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. Her coursework for this semester and many volunteer endeavors keep her busy, including work with Centennial AHEC with the Morgan County 9Health fair in April. Anissa is currently the Assistant Director of Nursing Programs at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. In this role she is able to teach nursing students in LPN and ADN programs in the classroom, lab and clinical settings. Her plans are to continue in her current role at NJC in Sterling. She would also like to partner with one of the universities in Colorado to offer a BS program from the NJC campus.
