At the health professional school level, students from disadvantaged backgrounds receive support to help retain them in their program through Aurora LIGHTS. Current schools* and programs at the Anschutz Medical Campus involved in retention include:
- School of Medicine
- School of Pharmacy
- School of Dental Medicine
- Physician Assistant Program (CHaPA)
- Physical Therapy Program
Support for these students includes board test preparation, tutoring workshops, clinical simulation sessions, mentoring and financial aid counseling.
The HRSA/HCOP currently does not include funding for nursing programs. Aurora LIGHTS, however, collaborates on many levels with the College of Nursing throughout the pipeline.
