The Colorado AHEC Program will pay for UC/AMC students:
- Registration Fee
- Lodging (Group lodging with other UC/AMC students)
- TEAM AHEC Bike Jersey
- Some Meals*
*Meals:
- July 20, 2012, Friday evening TEAM AHEC reception at Copper Mountain (light dinner and snacks)
- Lunch is provided during the ride as a part of the registration fee
- And, as always, July 22, 2012 Sunday night dinner is on Dr. Jack Westfall!
Other meals are on your own
Each year, Team AHEC rides in The Children’s Hospital Courage Classic. The annual Courage Classic is a 157-mile ride through Summit County in the Colorado mountains. The course is challenging, but the benefit is large. The bike ride raises money for Children’s Hospital and helps countless children with ailments such as scoliosis, heart problems, cancer and leukemia.
TEAM AHEC consists of University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus health profession students, faculty, staff and community members. Our goal is to recruit at least 40 riders this year!
Our riding gives hope to kids. Current and former Children's patients ride on Team Courage every year of the Courage Classic. Their medical diagnoses cross every pediatric specialty at The Children's Hospital. Yet, everyone on Team Courage crosses the finish line at the tour. Our team rides in spirit with Team Courage to give them the strength to get on their bikes and support The Children's Hospital.
