Jennifer Smith joined the university
as a Classified Staff Member in 2007. Jennifer
began working for the College of Nursing as an Administrative Assistant III and
has been promoted through the Program Assistant I level and is currently a
Program Assistant II with the Office of Clinical and Community Affairs. Jennifer
completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with Bloomsburg
University and her Clinical Internship with the Scranton Medical Technology
Consortium (both institutions in Pennsylvania). She worked in several hospital
laboratories (concentrating in Blood Banking) for 13 years before expanding to
work with the American Red Cross in Rochester, NY; the Vermont State Department of Public Health
Nursing in Burlington, VT; and HMSA ( a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue
Shield) in Honolulu, HI.
Jennifer enjoys managing the College
of Nursing Clinical Faculty, working in our contracted school-based health centers
and was voted on to the University Staff Council in 2011. She has been part of the Communications and
Event Committees within the Staff Council. She currently holds the office of Parliamentarian
within the Staff Council Executive Board.
She donates her free time as a
Sunday School Teacher with St. Andrews United Methodist Church and as a Squad
Parent for 15 (out of 600) Junior Denver Bronco Cheerleaders. She adores her husband,
daughter, and boxer pup.
