Snow is winding down in the metro area but cold temperatures persist.

The University of Colorado Denver is operating on two different schedules today due to the snow.
The Denver Campus will have a delayed start and begin operations at 10 a.m.
The University's Anschutz Medical Campus locations will be on a delayed start for non-essential personnel and begin operations at 9 a.m..  This does not include clinics and care at the University of Colorado Hospital or Children's Hospital Colorado. Employees (including faculty) who provide clinical care at UCH or Children's should check with their respective services.
Due to the weather conditions, please use caution traveling to and from our locations.

If you have not signed up in Rave to receive emergency-related updates --including voice, text and email -- on your personal phone(s) or other home and mobile communication devices, please enroll NOW.
 
To take advantage of this service, log into Rave using your University of Colorado Denver-issued email address at https://www.getrave.com/login/DenverAlerts. There is no charge for this service other than charges that may be incurred from your communications provider.
 
If you already are enrolled in Rave, you need not do anything. Weather-related delays or closure updates will be sent to the contact information you provided when you enrolled.
 
If you are no longer affiliated with the University of Colorado Denver and would like to opt out, go to https://www.getrave.com/login/DenverAlerts to remove yourself from the Emergency Notification System.

Heavy snow is forecast for parts of the Denver Metro Area throughout today, Dec.1, with accumulations of five to eight inches, blowing and drifting snow, icy and snow-packed roads, and wind chills near zero.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for parts of the Denver Metro Area and communities to the east -- effective from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 through 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec.1.
 
The warning area includes: Central and East Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert Counties. Among the communities in the warning area are: Castle Rock, Elbert, Kiowa, Larkspur, Simla, Bennett, Byers and Deer Trail.
 
The warning is for snow accumulations of five to eight inches, blowing and drifting snow, icy and snow-packed roads, poor visibility, possible whiteout conditions, and wind chills near zero.
 
Please use caution when traveling during such conditions.

While the forecast predicts only a few inches of snow, university personnel will continue to monitor developments.

This past weekend, a winter storm blanketed Metro Denver causing difficult travel conditions. While UC Denver's locations at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora and Denver/Auraria Campus are operating on normal schedules today, we encourage all visitors, faculty, students and staff to use caution when traveling to or from our locations.
