NOTIFICATION BULLETIN FOR THE AURARIA CAMPUS
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT NEAR AURARIA CAMPUS (Colfax and Speer)
issued May 24, 2012 – 2:50 p.m.

In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the Federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, the Auraria Higher Education Center located in Downtown Denver is issuing notice of a violent crime that occurred on the Auraria Campus.
REPORTED OFFENSE: Denver Police are currently investigating a stabbing at Colfax and Speer which occurred at approximately 1:54 p.m. today, Thursday, May 24, 2012.  DPD is currently seeking two suspects who were last seen headed northbound along the Cherry Creek bike path.

SUSPECT(S): Suspect 1 is described as a Hispanic male, 18-20 years of age, 5’, 9” in height, heavy-set build, with black hair, wearing a black hat with gold trim, black and white t-shirt, carrying a black backpack and a skateboard.  Suspect 2 is described as a white male in his 30’s, 6’ in height, wearing a brown shirt.

REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: The Auraria Police Department urges everyone to use caution when encountering individuals who are not personally known to them and to stay aware of their surroundings at all times. Please report any suspicious activity or suspicious persons to the Auraria Campus Police Department.

If you have any information that might be helpful in this investigation contact the Auraria Police Department at 303-556-5000; in person at 1201 5th Street, Administration Building, Room 110; or anonymously through the "Comments" line at 303-556-2677. Please encourage anyone with information to assist us in keeping the campus safe.

If anything suspicious occurs or you are the victim of a crime, immediately contact the Auraria Police Department from any campus phone by dialing 9-1-1 or at 303-556-5000 from your cell phone. Be aware of the Blue Light emergency telephones in the parking lots and throughout the campus. Use these telephones to report all suspicious persons or incidents to the Auraria Campus Police Department.

The Parking & Transportation Department also provides the Night Rider Escort Service to all on campus locations. Please call 303-556-2001 to access the service.

The Auraria Police Department is a division of the Auraria Higher Education Center located in Downtown Denver.
