Professor Marlene A. Smith

Professor Smith is an econometrician with research interests in the areas of modeling, applied statistics, computer simulation models of manufacturing problems, and statistical quality control. Her research articles have appeared in journals such as The Journal of Applied Econometrics, Communications in StatisticsThe Journal of Econometrics, and The Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida.

Professor Smith teaches the Data Analysis for Managers course (BUSN 6530) and the Business Statistics (QUAN 2010) at the University of Colorado at Denver. She has also taught Business Statistics, Computer Simulation, Introduction to Econometrics, Advanced Econometrics, Econometrics I and II, Principles of Microeconomics, and Managerial Economics. She is the coauthor of a collection of case studies for use in business statistics courses, and has taught on-site professional development courses in data analysis and statistical quality control. Professor Smith was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Year in the College of Business at CU-Denver in 1994.
