Volunteer Opportunities

Learn with purpose by serving people and communities in need

We believe in doing well by doing good, we aim to grow by giving and we want to make the world a better place. Through service learning, students at CU in the city use what they learn in the classroom and apply their education to improve local and global communities.

Some of our students serve community organizations in Guatemala and get to practice their Spanish as an added bonus. Other students volunteer their time to support the CU Denver Food Pantry, which collects food for students in need. We also know how to make volunteering fun—at the annual Lynx-a-thon, we dance through the night to raise money for Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Getting an education is important and rewarding, but changing the world one service project at a time brings rewards of its own. And that makes CU Denver a vital asset to the city we call home.

Lynx Alternative Breaks program

The Lynx Alternative Breaks program exposes students to complex social and cultural issues through direct service, experiential learning, group discussion and personal reflection. The vision is to transform students into advocates of social change on issues affecting our communities. Students travel to new communities to explore social, cultural and environmental issues by serving with various community organizations.
