Special Circumstances

Everyone's situation is unique. We adjust.

Special circumstances impacting your family contribution and educational expenses could be evaluated on an individual student basis. You are required to submit appropriate documentation to support your request.

Additional documentation or information may be requested prior to the processing of your request. All decisions are final--this means that you cannot re-appeal. Depending on the type of the appeal, please allow 4-8 weeks for processing. There is a deadline to submit the requests and it is stated on the form. Please submit your form and documentation before the deadline or it will be rejected.

If you have additional questions about your special circumstance, please contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

 Childcare Expenses

Child Care Expenses

If you are a single parent or married with a working spouse, you may file an appeal to have child care costs added to your budget. CU Anschutz uses the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) budget parameters for childcare expenses. The parameters are reviewed annually by the CDHE. Follow the instructions on the form carefully to avoid delay and return the completed form to the Financial Aid Office.

Computer Purchase

Follow the instructions on the form carefully to avoid delay and return the completed form and supporting documentation to the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

*Dental students receive a computer allowance in their first year's cost of attendance; therefore, are not eligible to submit this request. If the computer needs to be replaced, please contact the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office for further instructions.
