Information for Guests with Special Needs

CU Anschutz is dedicated to ensuring that all visitors to campus for the commencement ceremonies have a pleasant experience. For those guests that have mobility issues or require other accommodations, we have a number of resources available.

Parking and Shuttles:
Parking is free in all visitor lots on campus on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24. Handicapped parking spaces are available in all visitor lots on campus. Please refer to the campus parking maps for locations.
Friday Parking Map

The Ignacio Lot and part of the Georgetown Lot are reserved for handicapped parking on Friday. Vehicles must have current placards or license plates to park in designated spaces.
A campus shuttle operates on E. 19th Avenue on Friday to transport attendees from parking lots to ceremony sites. In addition, golf carts are available to shuttle guests needing assistance from the parking lots to the ceremonies. Look for Information Tents in multiple locations to be connected with transportation.
ADA seating is designated at all campus ceremonies. This seating may be covered to provide protection from the weather and easily accessible by wheelchairs, walkers, etc. Graduates are asked for information about guests requiring accommodation in order to anticipate the needs at each ceremony. Reserved seating will be provided for guests needing sign language interpreters. All other ADA seating is first-come, first-served. Please contact the Commencement Office at if hearing-impaired guests will be in attendance so that seats can be reserved.
Wheelchairs and scooters are not available for rent on site. Please click here for a list of local medical equipment companies. The attached list is for information purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
