ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss TV series selected the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center as its partner in medical oversight, weight loss and nutrition services. The World Health Organization named the Colorado School of Public Health Center for Global Health a collaborating center for promoting family and child health. Innovative faculty at the College of Nursing pioneered the nation’s first nurse practitioner and school nurse programs. School of Dental Medicine clinics serve 65,000 patients each year, providing dentures, implants, braces and general dentistry. CU Cancer Center has been elected as a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network®, an alliance of 23 of the world’s leading cancer centers. School of Dental Medicine faculty and students speak more than 30 different languages, creating a comfortable envi- ronment for non-English-speaking patients. School of Medicine professor Eric Coleman, MD, was named a 2012 MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellow for helping patients transition from hospital to home.

Special clinic fills dental health care gap

Outside the state-of-the-art clinic in the CU School of Dental Medicine Building sits Harold's mother, Reather Fowler. Reather and her husband have been taking Harold to regular checkups at the dental school's Special Care Clinic for 28 years, making him one of the clinic's longest-standing patients.
