Aurora, Colorado - Dec. 15, 2017 - The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, a national leader in clinical and translational research, announced today the acquisition of ClarVista Medical by Alcon, a subsidiary of Novartis. ClarVista Medical is a clinical stage intraocular lens company that was established with intellectual property licensed from the University’s tech transfer office, CU Innovations. The intellectual property covers technology invented by Malik Kahook, MD and Naresh Mandava, MD, faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology. The acquisition follows a period of collaboration between ClarVista and Alcon to develop a modular intraocular lens platform for implantation after cataract surgery.
