CPR Certification Courses

BLS Provider Certification

The Physical Therapy Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Relations offer Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification (CPR) for CU alumni, faculty, staff, students, and unaffiliated community members. This video-based, Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital setting. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills, however, you do not need to be a healthcare provider to take this course.

The BLS Provider course provides a two-year certification through the American Heart Association. BLS Provider is a 4-hour traditional classroom course where Basic Life Support is taught and demonstrated. Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, and use an AED.

Participants will receive the BLS Provider Manual at the beginning of class. The course will be held in the Education 1 Building, on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Please arrive early. The class will start promptly at 5:30 pm. If you are more than five minutes late, entry into the class may not be permitted. Visitors are encouraged to park in the Ignacio or Georgetown lots. A parking map can be found in the confirmation email after registering for the course.
