Due to weather, the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and CU Denver on the Auraria Campus will delay opening until 10 a.m. this morning.
CU South Denver will operate on a normal schedule today.
Closures and delays do not affect the operations of the University of Colorado Hospital and clinics, Children’s Hospital Colorado or their clinics on campus. Hospital operations are normal unless otherwise announced by those facilities. Students, faculty, and staff assigned to work in any University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado space are responsible for patient care and clinical operations, and must report to work unless the specific hospital announces a change in operations.
Due to icy and snow-packed roads, the University of
Colorado Denver has delayed the start of the Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony at
the Colorado Convention Center by one hour in order to allow
graduates and their guests plenty of
time to arrive safely. The ceremony will now begin at 10 a.m. and graduates
should arrive by 8:45. Updated ceremony details are below:

9:15 p.m. UPDATE
A sprinkler head fitting burst at the far west end of North Classroom first floor at 6:30 p.m., causing flooding. Facilities Services has contained the water, and they’re currently in the process of repairing the issue. Crews are cleaning and drying out the space so the building can operate as normally as possible tomorrow.
Classroom Scheduling is currently working on re-rooming classes as needed. If a class has been re-roomed temporarily, a notice will be posted on the classroom door. Students may also check with their department and/or professor.
6:45 p.m. UPDATE
North Classroom was evacuated this evening because of a significant flooding issue on the first floor. It’s believed to be the result of a burst fire sprinkler pipe on the west end of the building. Denver Fire has “red tagged” the building, meaning that no one may enter tonight due to possible shock risk in the water.
Students, faculty, and staff evacuated the building with their belongings inside. Auraria Campus Police Officers are escorting people to retrieve their items in the areas that are safe.
At this point in time, the building cannot be utilized for evening classes.
This announcement will be updated once more is known from Facilities Services regarding the cause, issue, and remediation.
The National Weather Service forecast for this morning is improving. It is calling for a mostly cloudy morning with a chance of showers, with a high near 59 degrees for the day. The Main Commencement Ceremony will take place as scheduled this morning in Boettcher Commons. Diploma representatives are asked to attend as originally planned.
Ceremonies for the School of Nursing and Physical Therapy program will take place at their regular scheduled sites.
Ceremonies for the School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences have moved to offsite locations. Click here for more information.

A bomb threat called into the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus on Tuesday February 9 does not appear to be credible at this time. Police continue to investigate. Please report suspicious activity to police by callling - 720-724-4444.

- The CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora will operate on a 2 HOUR DELAY today. Please note, the CU Anschutz delayed start does not affect the operations of University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado or their clinics on campus. Those organizations will operate normally unless they announce otherwise.

Weather Delay – Monday, February 1
Due to the inclement weather and potentially hazardous driving conditions, CU South Denver will be closing today, Feb. 1, at 4:30 p.m. Tomorrow, February 2, CU South Denver will delay opening until 10 a.m.
At this time, CU Denver and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus are expected to be operating on a normal schedule tomorrow, February 2. Updates will be posted here by 5 a.m.

Due to weather, the CU Asnchutz Medical Campus and CU Denver on the Auraria Campus delayed opening this morning. As of 11 AM both campuses are open and operating normally.
CU South Denver will remain closed today.
December 2, 2015 - 5 p.m.
The Aurora Police Department received a bomb threat at their Emergency Communications Center. The threat was non-specific. University of Colorado Anschutz Police Department is assisting the Aurora Police Department with the investigation. There is a large police presence in the area of University of Colorado Hospital, however, the threat is not confirmed.
Per the University of Colorado Hospital-While Officers are investigating the threat, the hospital is operating normally. They remain open and are receiving patients as normal.
Remember to be observant at all times and report suspicious activity by calling 911 from any campus phone or 303-724-4444 from your cell phone.

As of Noon on August 27, The
CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy on the Anschutz Medical Campus has been evacuated due to a small fire that has
been extinguished. The Aurora Fire Department and CU Denver Police are on
scene. Please avoid the area.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY AT 900 AURARIA PARKWAY (TIVOLI STUDENT UNION, AURARIA CAMPUS BOOKSTORE)
REPORTED OFFENSE: Auraria Campus Police are investigating a shoplifting incident from the Auraria Campus Bookstore (900 Auraria Parkway) that resulted in physical force being used, escalating the crime to a strong arm robbery. The suspect is known to police, who are currently attempting to locate the suspect at their residence of record in partnership with the Denver Police Department. The suspect was seen fleeing the campus, ACPD does not believe an ongoing threat exists to the campus.
SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a black male, late 20’s, 5-11, 185 pounds, wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants. He was last seen fleeing off campus towards Auraria Parkway.

The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center is closed until 12:00 noon on Friday, Nov. 14, while a minor chlorine spill is cleaned up.
On Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, University Police and the City of Aurora Police Departments will be conducting a full-scale crowd control exercise to test on-scene coordination between the law enforcement agencies. Simulation exercises and drills are among the most useful tools for evaluating and testing emergency preparedness and response.
The drill will take place on the Anschutz Medical Campus at the Parade Grounds, south of the Anschutz Wellness Center (19th Avenue and Racine Street).
Expect road closures
On Oct. 15, between 1- 5 p.m., along Racine Street between E. 19th Avenue and 17th Place and East 17th Place between Quentin Street and Racine Street will be closed.

REPORTED OFFENSE: A victim reported that at approximately 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, they were walking towards Campus Village from the Tivoli Student Union, and noticed the suspect following them to Campus Village. They then left Campus Village, returning towards campus. Once passing the 5th and Walnut intersection, while on the north (Walnut) side of the 5th Street Garage, the suspect grabbed the victim's buttox and said “hey, what’s your name.” The suspect then fled the scene in to the 5th Street Garage.
SUSPECT: The suspect is described as a black male, 19-20 years old, 5’7” to 5’8" tall, wearing a grey zip hoodie (with the hood up), dark blue jeans, and wearing a black backpack, sunglasses, and ear buds. Auraria Campus Police are searching the area and reviewing video footage for any relevant leads.
