Music: Music Business

I grew up on the middle of nowhere—a small Colorado town with only a thousand residents—and now it’s great to be in the middle of a thriving city. Business and music became my educational focus. A Myers-Briggs© test confirmed that I’d enjoy management and customer service. And I’ve always liked music.

The music program here prepares you to graduate, realistically start a career and actually make money. Being able to understand the business side of performance is key. The University of Colorado Denver is in the center of the downtown business district, and the professors have connections throughout the entertainment industry.

On-site campus housing was important—it allowed me to stay in a nice living environment while studying. I worked there as resident’s assistant, and worked with the student fee fund committee to bring in presenters, organize student hikes and give students a positive campus experience. The Career Center was especially helpful in setting up an internship for me.

The diversity on campus provides an acceptance of interests and of different types of people. There are more than 150 student organizations and clubs on campus that offer you support.
