ACCESS TO BUSINESSES
I like UC Denver because of its credentials as well as the downtown environment. You have access to more opportunities; you can go to a café at lunch between classes and can see a play across the street at night.
This is a diverse campus. My parents are in the military, and we moved here from St. Louis. Being on campus provided the first chance for me to meet Arab students, Israeli students, Asian students, and to mingle and make friends with kids from a lot of countries.
The classes are interactive, with a student/teacher ratio of 15:1. You get to dialogue with your professors, more so than at many major universities.
I worked with the Junior Black Chamber of Commerce student organization at UCD. They brought in business leaders from around the community as guest speakers, and we learned about networking and other business essentials that go beyond the classroom.
Use the time outside of the classroom well. Take advantage of all the resources that you’re paying for—lectures, clubs, the career office, internships, Student Life, and the Experiential Learning Center.
