Did you know that you are part of an elite group of nursing students? It's true. In 2006, only 34% of the students who applied to our nursing programs were accepted. Because we have some of the toughest admissions standards of any nursing schools in this region. Now that you're here, our goal is to help you succeed.
Clinical assignments and nursing mentors
The University of Colorado College of Nursing is proud to offer all applicants in our program clinical placement and preceptors (nursing mentors). This means you won't have to worry about trying to find your clinical placements and preceptor once admitted. You may sit back and let us do that work for you! We work diligently with our agency partners to provide quality clinical assignments. You will complete seven clinical rotations:
- Obstetrics: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Pediatrics: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Psychology/Mental Health: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Community Health: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Medical Surge I: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Medical Surge II: minimum of 96 clock hours to complete
- Senior Integrated Practicum: minimum of 144 clock hours to complete
All classes offered within the College of Nursing will be held on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Clinical placements will be in a variety of locations.
