I’m Juan Faz, Transfer Coordinator. I have ten years of higher education experience at two community colleges and a university in Colorado where I worked in Admissions and Recruitment. I've heard many success stories from current and former DTI students, as well as from UCD faculty, and staff. I plan to continue DTI's strong reputation of making the transfer process to UCD smooth and seamless.
Hi, my name is Anthony Hermosillo, a UCD Educational Specialist. I was recently hired by DTI and I'm pleased to be around a team of colleagues that are passionate about student success. My experience in higher education has been in both administrative and case management at the Community College level. I have a bubbly personality and work well with everyone!
Hi, my name is Isaac Garcia, I am a proud native of Denver Colorado. I received a B.A. in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. My experience has been in counseling “at-risk” youth and helping disadvantaged youth reach their goals. I have been hired as an educational specialist with DTI serving students on the UCD track. I enjoy working with transfer students helping them in working towards their academic, career, and life goals.
Transfer Peer Mentors at Denver Transfer Initiative
Hello, my name is Alyssa Paiz, and I am a junior at UCD. I am majoring in Communication with a minor in Spanish. I am a peer mentor with Denver Transfer Initiative. I have been mentoring at DTI for a year. I look forward in helping transfer students and I enjoy being a part of their transition. As a first generation student, I know what it is like to juggle work, school and other personal life experiences so I can relate to different students’ situations. I am a confident peer advocate and mentor to our students.
My name is Antoinette Foster, and I am a peer mentor at DTI. I am from Denver, and lived in Virginia Beach for a few years. I love the beach! Moving out there made me realize that I want to travel the world. So when I was done with the beach, I moved back home… For now. I came back home to finish my undergraduate degree, and spend a little time with my family before I leave..forever. I wouldn’t mind joining some force that allows me to travel, and it would be awesome if they would pay for my grad school too. I am majoring in Psychology, mostly because I’m nuts about it. Recently I started to become more and more interested with the human brain. My plan as of now is to be a Neuropsychologist when I grow up, so I can play with people’s brains. Right now, I do research in one of the labs on campus. It doesn’t allow me to play with brains directly, because that’s what grad school is for.
