The Denver Bound Scholarship recognizes the academic achievement, extracurricular activities and leadership of out-of-state new freshmen entering in the fall term. Awards range from $2,000 to $16,000 per year (valid for up to four years or eight semesters not including summer term). Award amounts are based on cumulative high school gpa, test scores, essay question response, extra-curricular activities, leadership activities, and interview results.
Students must first be admitted to CU Denver to be considered (apply here). Qualified admitted students are then invited to apply for the scholarship by completing a scholarship file. A completed scholarship files consists of the following:
- Completed Denver Bound Online Scholarship Application
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
(letters of recommendation must be from someone who can attest to your academic strengths and capabilities)
- Personal Vitae or Resume
- 4x6 photo
(This photo is used in the Scholarship Resource Office to promote each Denver Bound Cohort; please submit a photo you would like displayed. A head-shot is preferred.)
This information may be submitted via mail, email, or fax (emailed photos must be in jpg format; no other file type will be accepted). The photo and all documents shoud be clearly labeled "Attn. Denver Bound Scholarship," and mailed to:
