HSC Shipping & Receiving

The function of the Shipping & Receiving Department is to assure goods are received properly, and delivered to University and Hospital departments in a safe and expeditious manner.

We serve all departments on campus for their shipping and receiving needs. Our services reduce the responsibilities of the departments, so they can focus on their own mission.

Our staff delivers over 130,000 shipments per year, to the 81 buildings on campus. From the time a carrier delivers to our dock, it usually takes us 2 to 3 days to deliver to you. In that time, we inspect the majority of the shipments for contents and damage.

Our business office is open daily from 8:00 to 4:00, Monday through Friday. The distribution dock closes at 3:30.

When you receive a shipment

When you receive a shipment, we need to get your signature and the date of delivery. Please write legibly so we can later track the package, if needed.

We inspect the majority of the shipments for external damage before delivering them to you. If there is a problem with your shipment, please give us a call. The driver is not equipped to handle problems, so please do not hold them up while opening the package. Holding up the driver will only delay the service to our other customers.
