Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board
The Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB) exists to review all proposed human research projects prior to implementation in the affiliated institutions and/or research conducted by faculty or staff members of these institutions, even if it is performed at other locations.
Conflict of Interest
UC Denver encourages and supports outside interactions of its faculty and student employees with federal, state, and local governments. Since outside interactions also carry with them an increased potential for conflict of interest and/or commitment, either actual or perceived, UC Denver should have adequate procedures for identifying potential conflicts through annual disclosure, and ensure rigorous and consistent review of such disclosures.
HIPAA Privacy and Compliance
A law, popularly known as "HIPAA" (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), requires that we establish policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality and the security of protected health information.
