CU: Chemical Waste Management (U00068)

The Chemical Waste Management course is required annually for all University of Colorado employees with job responsibilities that include generating or handling hazardous chemical waste, or employees working in areas where chemical waste is generated. The purpose of this course is to understand the proper management of hazardous waste including how to use chemical safety information, understanding chemical hazards, emergency spill response, and hazardous waste identification. Course is available through the SkillSoft system.

Hazard Communication/Chemical Safety Training (SAH0435)

The HazCom course is designed to familiarize employees with the routes of chemical entry into the body, define various categories of chemical hazards, interpret warning labels, interpret information commonly found in a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and identify types of controls commonly used to reduce or eliminate contact with hazardous materials in the workplace. The HazCom training is available through the SkillSoft system. Alternatively, an instructor led course is available upon request from the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
