On the job training (OJT) is intended to prepare employees for safe use and storage of chemical and biological materials, proper use of potentially hazardous equipment, and emergency response(s). The State of Colorado mandates that all lab workers (e.g., paid, unpaid, volunteer, student workers, etc.) complete OJT. To complete the OJT form that EHS has created, please download the form from our website; records of the OJT must be kept in the laboratory for 3 years after a person has left the lab.
Although EHS has created an OJT form to facilitate on the job training, it is up to each lab to ensure that the employees, student, volunteers, or others performing work in the lab space have been trained.
