Pamela J. Jones , Ph.D. Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts
Pamela J. Jones, Ph.D. joined the Office of Vice Chancellor for Research as the Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) in February, 2005. Grants and Contracts administers over $350M/year in awards to UCD faculty. The OGC is comprised of a 30-member staff focused on supporting faculty in their efforts to secure external funding along with providing assistance in the maintenance of high-level compliance with sponsor guidelines and university policy.
Dr. Jones brings over 25 years of experience in health care administration to UCDSHC serving 13 years most recently with University Physicians, Inc. / CU School of Medicine as Director of Managed Care and Marketing. Dr. Jones holds a B.S from Colorado State University, an M.S.S. from the University of Denver and a doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. She has held adjunct faculty appointments with the University of Hawaii, the University of Colorado Denver, the University of Denver, and Metropolitan State College where she teaches health services research methods and health care management. Dr. Jones is also a Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics, Department of Pediatrics at the CU School of Medicine.
Christine Ahearn, J.D. Assistant Director of Contracts, Policy and Education
Christine Ahearn is the Assistant Director of Contracts, Policy and Education for the Office of Grants and Contracts. Prior to joining Grants and Contracts Christine worked as the contract administrator for University Physicians, Inc. Christine also worked as a research associate attorney in the Office of University Counsel at the University of Colorado Denver. Christine holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa and a J.D. from the University of Denver.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Collins, MSCIT, Assistant Director of Electronic Research Administration
Betsy Collins is the Assistant Director of Electronic Research Administration in the Office of Grants and Contracts, overseeing the implementation and use of the InfoEd Grants module, among other duties. Betsy has 20 years of experience in Higher Education, with 14 of those years in Information Technology. Prior to joining Grants and Contracts, she worked for 2 years as an Applications Consultant for SunGard Higher Education. Betsy also worked for 15 years at the University of Colorado Foundation, most recently serving as the Director of Technology and Reporting Services. Betsy holds a B.A. in Music from the University of Colorado Boulder and an M.S. in Computer Information Technologies from Regis University.
Pam Vincent , Assistant Director of PostAward and Accounting
Pam Vincent is the Assistant Director of the PostAward and Accounting Section in the Office of Grants and Contracts. Pam's professional experience includes Big Four Public Accounting experience in the Audit Practice, as well as Fortune 500 accounting experience in the areas of Cost Accounting, General Accounting Management, Accounting Systems Design and Implementation Management. Pam's higher education experience includes past positions in the areas of budgeting, general financial management and grants and contracts. Pam holds a B.S. in Accounting from Colorado State University.
