The University Honors and Leadership (UHL) course proposal process is very straightforward. Faculty members should complete a UHL course proposal form, which is available online and submit this form, along with a provisional syllabus, a curriculum vita, and a one-paragraph teaching biography by email to the UHL Office. All course proposals are reviewed by the UHL Steering Committee, usually within three weeks of submission.
In developing a course proposal, faculty should keep several things in mind:
- All UHL courses are multidisciplinary
- UHL course are intended to fulfill UC Denver Core Curriculum requirements
- UHL electives are taught as upper-division (3000- and 4000-level) courses, and courses should be designed commensurate with this standard
UHL courses are generally taught as part of a faculty member’s base teaching load, although other compensation models are also utilized in certain cases.
