On Friday, April 6th, Kristen Fukumoto (Biology, '12) was among the seven CU-Denver students to receive a Rosa Parks Diversity Award. The luncheon and ceremony took place on campus in St. Cajetan's Church. This annual event is in its sixth year and was sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Educational Opportunity Programs, and the Office of Student Life.
The CU-Denver
news release about the event describes the award as "taking its name from Rosa Parks, who is ... the first lady of the Civil Rights Movement .... The University of Colorado Denver Rosa Parks Diversity Committee recognizes individuals who have contributed to the university's commitment to diversity and inclusion."
UHL is proud to have Kristen recognized for her contributions to the university!
