Girls Incorporated of Metro Denver
Graduating senior Ingrid Hoff recently accepted a position as the instructor of the Girls Incorporated of Metro Denver's (GIMD) anthropology summer program. This program is intended to teach the basic tenets of the discipline, as well as give the students an idea of the uses and benefits of the science.
Ingrid, whose degree is in anthropology, will be teaching girls ages six to eleven. The program will cover all four sub-disciplines of anthropology, including cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, linguistics, and archaeology. Ingrid is excited to have this opportunity to turn her four years of study into something extremely relevant and applicable for her community. She recognizes that she will learn just as much about anthropology as she teaches this summer, and she is eager to get started. She hopes to find continued employment at GIMD after the summer programs have ended.
