University Honors and Leadership Program

UHL Program Benefits

There are many benefits associated with participation in the University Honors and Leadership (UHL) program. In addition to its small, seminar-style classes taught by faculty members selected for their teaching and research expertise, the UHL program offers:

  • The opportunity to choose a unique multidisciplinary academic honors experience or an honors program in leadership studies
  • $10,000 in scholarship over four years plus the opportunity to apply for additional scholarships
  • Membership in a cohort-based program that provides an intellectual and social community from the moment you arrive on campus as a freshman
  • An innovative curriculum that provides a unique path to satisfying the university’s core curriculum requirements
  • A wide range of multidisciplinary courses, which break down the walls that too often separate academic disciplines
  • Specialized student advising
  • Opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research with UC Denver faculty members
  • International education experiences, including intensive foreign language study and study abroad programs with fellow UHL students
  • Interaction with students and faculty across CU Denver’s schools and colleges
  • The opportunity to participate in state, regional, and national honors and leadership conferences
  • UHL-specific scholarship opportunities
  • “University Honors” designations on your diploma and transcript
