Register for Courses

Placeholder Image

Online registration for didactic courses generally opens in early December for the spring semester, late April for the summer semester, and late July for the fall semester. Exact dates of registration are posted on the academic calendar for the current academic year. Please register for courses as early as possible. The registration system generally remains open for 1-2 weeks after the first day of classes to allow for registration changes (dropping and adding courses).

Registration is restricted in subsequent semesters to returning students who are in good financial, academic, and administrative standing. The Bursar’s Office determines if a student is in good financial standing. Good academic standing requires a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 and meets grade criteria for individual courses. The minimum passing grade for courses is 70%.

Students will receive notification via email when a billing statement is available in the student portal. The billing statement will have a due date listed and tuition and fees are due on the given due date. The University of Colorado’s policies require significant financial penalty for dropping a course after classes have begun. More information about tuition and refunds is located on each program’s Tuition and Fees website page.

Note: The online registration process outlined in the steps below does NOT apply to the advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) rotations, including the online drug-information rotation and credit-by-challenge submissions. The DDP Office will contact students about registering for rotations and credit-by-challenge submissions.

Learn how to register online for the didactic courses by reading through the sections below:

 Registration Letter

In order to register for didactic courses, all students MUST first read the current registration letter, which contains semester-specific information for each registration period as well as news from the DDP Office.

1

 UCDenver Email Account

All students are provided with a UCDenver email account upon admission. The UCDenver email system is the official means of electronic communication for the university, including the NTPD and ITPD Programs. Use of this email account is MANDATORY for all students while enrolled in either the NTPD or ITPD Program. Students should check their UCDenver email account regularly to review information provided by the DDP Office and to keep the password up-to-date, which must be changed every 90 days.

How to Claim Your UCDenver Email Account

New students need to claim their UCDenver email account first before registering online for didactic courses. Returning students need to ensure their UCDenver email account is still active in order to register online for didactic courses.

Students should visit the Email Support website page on the Health Sciences Library website page to claim and access their UCDenver email account. If students have any difficulties claiming or accessing their UCDenver email account, first contact the Anschutz Medical Campus student email controller. The student email controller will respond within 24-48 business hours. If difficulties still persist, then contact the student technology representative for the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as listed on the Student Support website page.

How to Access Your UCDenver Email Account

The university offers several methods for students to access their UCDenver email account from their personal computer or mobile device. The University Webmail website page provides students with the link to login into their UCDenver email account and instructions on how to connect your device to the university email system.

2

 UCDenver Access

All students will register for the didactic courses using the UCDenver Access portal. Students should view the tutorials provided within UCDenver Access to learn how to register for courses. For questions about how to use UCDenver Access, read through the registration instructions or click on the “Need Help?” link located on the top right-hand corner UCDenver Access home page.

3

 Canvas

Students will access their registered didactic courses via Canvas, and instructions on how to access Canvas are located on the Going to Class website page.

Once a student registers for courses via UCDenverAccess, the registered courses will appear in the student’s Canvas account within 24-48 business hours (not including weekends). The courses will not appear in Canvas immediately after the student registers for the courses in UCDenver Access.

Registration is fully valid for students who register for courses on the weekend before class begins or prior to the add/drop date as listed on the academic calendar. These students will need to wait 24-48 business hours for their courses to appear in Canvas.
