Our Offerings

The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences offers a range of live and enduring (home study) continuing pharmacy education activities. We are currently developing content for an online platform that will provide educational experiences for pharmacists seeking to advance their professional knowledge and clinical skills. Information about our offerings will be updated as new events and courses become available.

We also collaborate with other organizations to design and accredit educational programs. We have partnered with the Colorado Pharmacists Society, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the University of Colorado Office of Continuing Medical Education, as well as others.  We will list co-sponsored programs on this website as they become available.

Do you have questions about providing care to pediatric patients or answering questions about medication therapy for children?  Come to the Pediatric Advanced Practice Conference April 23-24 at Children's Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus to participate in clinical education for advanced practice  providers and pharmacists.  The conference provides 9.75 contact hours of ACPE-accredited education in lecture and workshop formats, with many pharmacist presenters.  Register now at www.regonline.com/pedsap2012Early bird discount available until March 25!

Immunization Training

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will be hosting the APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate program for pharmacists on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.  We anticipate opening registration in mid-June.  The training involves completing several self-study modules and one full day of in-person training and hands-on practice.  Please check back here as more information becomes available.  You can also check the APhA website (www.pharmacist.com) later this spring for immunization trainings in other cities.

CPE Monitor

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) are teaming up to provide a new way of tracking continuing pharmacy education credit for pharmacists and technicians.  Soon you will be able to access your CE records online and will no longer need paper copies.

Once CPE Monitor is implemented, you will be asked to provide your NABP e-profile number with your birth date in MMDD format to the CPE provider. The providers will be responsible for uploading participation information to the CPE Monitor database.

The system will undergo pilot testing in the fall of 2011, with anticipated implementation in early 2012. After January 1, 2012, the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will request the NABP e-profile number and birthday (DDMM) from participants at program registration.
