Clinical Activities:

Dr. Vande Griend is a clinical pharmacy specialist at the University of Colorado Family Medicine Clinics in Lone Tree, Westminster, and Boulder.  Clinical pharmacy services at these sites includes patient and provider education, chronic disease state management, and medication management targeting quality improvement.  These clinics serve as practice sites for the PGY2 Ambulatory Care/Family Medicine residents.

Teaching Activities:

Dr. Vande Griend co-coordinates Self-Care for first-year pharmacy students and co-coordinators a P3 elective, Ambulatory Care.  In addition, he precepts PGY2 Ambulatory Care/Family Medicine residents and 4th year APPE students.

Scholarly Activities:

Dr. Vande Griend has published in the area of geriatric pharmacotherapy and innovative clinical pharmacy services.  His primary area of focus is developing innovative strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical pharmacy services.

Professional Service:

Dr. Vande Griend is the Assistant Director of Clinical Affairs for the School of Pharmacy.  In this capacity, he seeks to enhance existing clinical activities, develop and evaluate novel clinical pharmacy services, and identify and implement clinical pharmacist reimbursement opportunities.  He is the current chair of the Experiential Education Committee for the School, and has been actively involved in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy in a variety of capacities.
