Clinical Service:

Dr. Smith provides clinical services in the division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado. His practice sites include Internal Medicine at the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion and at Lowry, both of which are practice sites for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.  

Research Interests:

Dr. Smith’s research interests are primarily centered in cardiovascular medicine, particularly hypertension. Specifically, he is interested in adverse and advantageous metabolic effects of common antihypertensive agents. Furthermore, he is interested in the effects of common antihypertensives on noninvasively-measured central (aortic) blood pressure and hemodynamic parameters. In addition to cardiovascular research, Dr. Smith has a strong interest in research on antimicrobial resistance.
