Dr. Chavez is a Clinical Pharmacist at Salud Family Health Center in Brighton and Commerce City. His current focus is in bringing together primary care and behavioral health, and working collaboratively with other health care professionals to provide the best treatment possible to patients. At Salud, Dr. Chavez practices under Collaborative Drug Therapy Management protocols to treat patients with diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. This is also a rotation site for pharmacy students and residents. Specific areas of interest include diabetes, depression, anxiety disorders, and ADHD.
Dr. Chavez participates in research related to primary care (diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia) and behavioral health (depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, child/adolescent). He is also involved in scholarship of teaching. He has published research articles, review articles, book chapters, and continuing education materials.
