The Clinical Education Center (CEC), located in Education Building
1 on the Anschutz Medical Campus and at the South
Denver location, is an innovative clinical learning environment to
prepare students for safe patient care in today’s complex healthcare systems.
This pioneering area within the College of Nursing is on the leading edge for
integrating informatics into nursing education. Through a partnership with
University of Colorado Hospital, the Clinical Education Center is able to
provide students with the opportunity to engage in electronic medical records
using the McKesson Care Manager system. The addition of
a Care Fusion Pyxis machine to immolate electronic medication
dispensing into the undergraduate clinical education is going to allow students
the best practices in safe medication practices.

Housed by the CEC, the Simulation Suite integrates current simulation research with quality and safety care initiatives.
For new students, this process can take two to three months; it is important to plan ahead.
