Proposal development is handled by the OREA PreAward grants and contract specialist. PreAward is responsible for managing the submission process and the coordination of all proposals requesting project funding from external sponsors.
The PreAward process begins with the identification and selection of a grant request for proposal (RFP) and continues throughout the developmental stages of writing the grant proposal up to the submission to the funding agency. As the college is vested in faculty research, the OREA has experienced staff to assist in submitting proposals. The PreAward specialist provides investigators with a variety of technical support such as
- preparing SF424 forms
- developing budgets and drafting budget narratives
- writing boilerplate language for proposals
- providing copy editing and much more
The PreAward specialist provides faculty and students information regarding funding and fellowship opportunities. PreAward also serves as liaison with the University of Colorado Denver’s Office of Grants and Contracts to assure compliance with federal regulations, policies and procedures.
