College of Nursing Research Statement
Karen H. Sousa, RN, PhD, FAAN, associate dean for research and extramural affairs, directs the Office of Research and Extramural Affairs (OREA). The faculty and staff of the OREA are committed to providing the College of Nursing faculty and students with the highest standard of service excellence. Services include research consultation, technical support in research grant production and student fellowship applications, postaward support and an intramural program that includes faculty mentoring, small grant support and editorial consultation. The OREA is responsible for ensuring integrity in science and assuring that faculty and students adhere to the requirements of the Colorado Multiple Institute Review Board (COMIRB) and assuring adherence to all types of regulatory and research policies.
The University of Colorado College of Nursing is truly vested in providing a research environment and supporting infrastructure for faculty and students to generate knowledge in nursing science and the health care industry. The college’s centers, interdisciplinary partnerships and studies afford both faculty and students the opportunity to participate in world-class research as nurse scientists.
