Health Care Systems Research Foci
Health Care Systems is one of the primary areas of research and doctoral study within the college which investigates the interrelationships among context, care delivery and information systems in order to improve population health, safety and quality outcomes. Faculty and students who focus in this area utilize a variety of research approaches such as multi-method qualitative and multi-level quantitative techniques. Areas of research concentration include emphasis on improving patient outcomes in a variety of settings, innovative practice models, the impact of health information and patient centered technologies on safety and quality and workgroup activities as well as the impact of leadership behaviors on practice. Health care environments of interest include all aspects of acute and chronic care settings and communities in both urban and rural areas.
