Roger Y. Reeves earned his master's in nursing informatics from the University of Utah, College of Nursing in 1996. Reeves has worked in a variety of roles with health systems, vendors and consulting. These roles have encompassed all phases of the systems development lifecycle from feasibility studies to system support. Reeves is Board Certified in Nursing Informatics from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a Certified Professional in Health Information Management Systems (CPHIMS) from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He is a member of the HIMSS, the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and Sigma Theta Tau International.
In 2010, Reeves began teaching. Teaching Foundations of Health Care Informatics was an opportunity to share his excitement for the application of informatics to the clinical environment and lay a foundation for aspiring informaticians. At the other end of the spectrum, Reeves advises Informatics Practicum students as they prepare for an advanced practice role.
